- Not to be confused with Georgia State University, this is a blog for Georgia Southern University. Basically a digital collection of all the weird shit that happens on, and sometimes off, campus. In no way is this blog affiliated with the university. Just a flabbergasted student taking out some angst/humor within the constraints of a blog.
Established in 1906, the school is located in good ol' Statesboro, GA; also known as the 'boro'. It's a town where armed robberies happen 4 out of the 7 days of the week, the parking lot at Big Lots is deserted 24/7, and Cracker Barrel is considered a 5-star establishment. We have just about every fast food restaurant your little college heart could long for, and our pride and joy is the local Wal-Mart. The school is home to the Eagles (GATA), and about twenty-thousand drunk college kids. Yes, it's just as cliche as it sounds. Let's not forget to mention that this place breeds every type of venereal disease. The post-office and Landrum smell like a nursing home, and don't bother going to Chik-Fil-A anywhere from the hours of11 AM to 5 PM - because you'll have to wait in line for an hour and half. Here, your friends will advise you more than your 'advisors', there's a party every night, except sunday; where people still insist on going to church, where they can praise their ~lord and savior Jesus Christ; but only after doing the walk of shame. Oh, and sometimes we go to class. Did I mention there's a Wal-Mart?
